Jour 14: Camaguey

Day 14: Camaguey

We set off very early to tackle the 125km challenge. The road is very dangerous, trucks are everywhere and the road accident statistics are frightening.

I'm being very careful... I'm eating a small snack I bought several days ago. It's a coconut mix, it's very good, and what's more, it comes in biodegradable packaging!

A day without too much drama; I can't wait to get back to the sea. Camagüey was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2008. It's a very beautiful city with neoclassical architecture and a colonial-style historic center. Here's the view from my terrace at the house where I rent my room.

The police car is quite comical!

I decided to treat myself to Chop Suey at a Chinese restaurant tonight! It cost 5 CUC (125 CUP). Normally, I eat pizza or spaghetti for 10 CUP.

Have a lovely day!
